Austrian ironclad SMS (ex-Ersatz Salamander) Kronprinz Erzherzog Rudolf 1884-1922

Displacement 6,829 tons and as dimensions 90,26 (between perpendiculars)-97,6 (over all) x 19,27 x 7,39 metres or 296.2-320.3 x 68.3 x 25.3 feet. The by watertight compartments divided hull with a double bottom was built up from transverse and longitudinal steel made frames against steel plates were riveted. The two-2cylinder triple expansion steam engines and 10 coal fuelled boilers supplied via two screws 6.000-7,500 (forced draught) ihp allowing a speed of 15,5-16 (with forced draught) knots. Crew numbered 447-450 men. The armament consisted of 3x1-30,5cm/12” Krupp guns in open barbettes, 6-12cm/4.7” Krupp guns, 7-4,7cm/1.9” quick firing guns, 2-3,7cm/1.5” quick firing guns, 2-7cm/2.8” landing guns and 4-40cm/16” torpedo tubes (1xbow, 1xstern, each beam one). The compound armour produced by Dillinger Hüttw Works, Germany consisted of a 6,2cm?2.4”-30,5cm/12” (amidships) thick belt, a 95cm/3.7” thick deck and the barbettes protected by 25,4cm/10” thick armour.
