French torpedo boat captured German float plane off Belgian coast according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant dated 19 December 1915
An item dated Paris, France 18th
referred to an official announcement of the French naval staff reporting that a
torpedo boat attacked two float planes lying on the water near de Out Ratelbank
west of Ostend, Belgium. One plane escaped, the second was hit and capsized.
The plane was seized and her naval pilots taken prisoner of war. A second item
confirmed this news although claiming that the planes stationed at Zeebrugge,
Belgium were flying on a little heigh above the water 10 miles north west of
Nieuwpoort, Belgium when they were attacked.
