Japan partly agreed with British naval proposals according to the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 19 November 1932

An item dated Tokyo, Japan 18th referred to an official statement of the Japanese department of navy reporting that the British proposals for smaller guns and smaller battleships agreed with the Japanese point of view. Japan also supported the proposal for abolishing aircraft carriers but not the British proposal for abolishing submarines.
