British Royal Navy still building 35.000 tons battleships with 14”guns according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1938 no. 5

King George V-class

An item referred to the magazine U.S.R. dated 9 June 1938 reported that the Royal British Navy in fact intended to built none battleships larger as 35.000 tons and an main armament of a calibre larger as 35,6cm/14“. The naval arms race especially in the topic battleships was to be considered by her as unreasonable. The 35.000 tons battleships of the King George V-class were to be armed with 35,6cm guns with had a range of 45,7 kilometres/50.000 yards.(1)
