An item reported that in Brest and Toulon, France labourers protested and struck. Labour union leaders even ordered to strike in the naval arsenal at Brest. In the afternoon a day earlier was the atmosphere grim and the Internationale sung. When the labourers stopped with their work at the armoured cruiser Dunker (1) closed the naval prefect immediately ring the alarm and fire bell and closed the shipyard. Heavily armed detachments of the mobile guard and the navy were patrolling in the city.
