Australian government seek aid of natives for guarding coastline of Arnhem Land according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1938 no. 5

An item referred to the magazine Marine Rundschau dated April 1938 reporting that the Australian government hoped to persuade with the help of missionaries the Myall tribe in Arnhem Land to perform coast guard tasks along the 1.000 kilometres uninhabited northern coastline. They were to warn with signal fires if unknown warships approached the coast.
