The Japanese naval shipbuilding program according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1938 no. 5



An item referred to the Italian naval magazine Revista Marittima dated January 1938 reporting that the Japanese shipbuilding program consisted of 3-46.000 tons battleships with a main armament of 40,6cm guns, 5-7.000 ton cruisers, 8-1.800 tons destroyers and 6 submarines.(1)

Note
1. This must be the Yamato-class consisting of the Yamato (laid down on 4 November 1937, Musashi (laid down on 29 March 1938), Shinano and the never completed No. 111 with a displacement of 69.988 (standard)-73.000 (full load) tons. And a main armament of 3x3-46cm/18.1” guns.
