New French naval gun invented according to the Dutch newspaper Vliegend blaadje dated 23 January 1884

An item dated reported that France was improving her breech loading funs on board of her armoured ship.  The cannon foundry at Rueile just delivered naval guns of a new type invented by a French naval lieutenant. Details dealing with the production process were unknown, but officially was claimed that the range was 10 kilometres and able to pierce onf a maximum distance of 4,6 kilometres the strongest armour of warships than available. Even important was the lacking of the heavy response of this new gun in contrary to the other types.
