Gangut-class

An item referred to the Journal de la marine merchande which reported that the Russian navy consisted of 4 battleships (1), 6 cruisers, 15 destroyers and 10 submarines. The battleships seemed already to be modernized. The 7.600 ton cruisers were armed with 15-13cm guns, 14-7,5cm guns, torpedo tubes and 2 aircraft. Some were also fitted out as minelayer and could carry for that purpose 100 mines. Despite dating from 1914-1917 were the destroyers still very useful. The newest submarines had a displacement of 1.100 tons, four were still under construction.
