The Japanese submarine building according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1923

An item referred to the Naval and Military Record no. 6 dated 1923 reporting that Japan continued with the building of submarines. Although is was well known that a large number was under construction, the exact number was not known. Among the submarines launched in 1922 were the Nos. 62 and 68 of which the building between the laying down of the first keel plate and the launching just lasted 6 months despite their displacement of 1.800 tons. Japanese shipyards were regarded the fast building equal to the best European shipyards.
