Polish whaler Polar Chief modernized at Amsterdam, Netherlands according to the Dutch magazine Schip en Werf dated 7 August 1936

An item reported that the Polish whaler Polar Chief which was all ready for quite what time laid up in the harbour of Tonsberg, Norway was to be modernized by the Amsterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij. The aft ship was to be renewed and altered to make it possible whales to tow inside the ship. Further more was the main deck to be renewed. The conversion would need around 3 months.
