American battleship USS Michigan performed well during trials according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1909-1910 no. 6


An item referred to the magazine Schiffbau reporting that the American battleship Michigan at the temporarily trials with 121 rpm achieved a speed of 20 miles.(1)

1. Laid down by the New York Shipbuilding Corporation on 17 December 1906, launched by F.W. Brooks on 26 May 1908, commissioned on 4 January 1910, decommissioned on 11 February 1922, stricken on 10 November 1923 and sold to be broken up as a result of the Washington Naval Treaty of 1922 in 1924. Part of the South-Carolina class consisting of the South Carolina and the Michigan, preceded by the Mississippi-class and succeeded by the Delaware-class.
