American destroyer USS Porter executed trials according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1916-1917 no. 5

An item reported that the new American destroyer Porter achieved in March a maximum speed of 30,77 miles. The medium speed during the 4 hours full power was 29,59 miles. Contracted speed was 29,5 miles.(1)

The DD-59 of the Tucker-class, building ordered in 1913, laid down by William Cramp and Sons, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA with yard number 420 on 24 August 1914, launched on 26 August 1915, commissioned on 17 April 1916, handed over to the US Coast Guard on 7 June 1924, stricken on 5 July 1934 and sold to be broken up on 22 August 1934.
