Building of French fast vedette Libellule ordered according to the Dutch magazine dated Marineblad 1899-1900 no. 5

An item referred to the magazine le Yacht reporting that the French navy signed a contract with the les Forges et Chantiers de la Méditerranée, Le Havre, France to built the fast 40 tons vedette Libelluie [Libellule]. Her machinery was to consist of a Rateau turbine en Renard boilers.(1)

1. Experimental torpedo boat, a failure, not earlier completed as 1905 and stricken in 1911.
