German submarines handed over to the Allies according to the Dutch newspaper Bataviaasch nieuwsblad dated 26 November 1918

An item dated London, England 24th reported that the same day in the presence of sir Eric Geddes again 28 German submarines surrendered. Among these submarines were some of the largest submarine cruisers, one with a length of 350 feet and a crew of 91 persons. Also the Deutschland was handed over.(1) On one submarine cruiser were on five places 9” guns mounted and was she fitted out with ice machines and luxuriously.

Building ordered as private cargo submarine for account of the North German Lloyd subsidiary Deutsche Ozean-Reederei on 27 October 1915, launched by the Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft on 28 March 1916, completed by Germaniawerft, Kiel, Germany, converted into the U-155 and commissioned in the German navy on 19 February 1917, surrendered on 24 November 1918, sold to be broken up in 1921 which was executed by Robert Smit and Sons, Birkenhead, England at Morecambe in 1922.
