The British Fleet Air Arm according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1937 No. 3

An item referred to the magazine Marine Rundschau dated February 1937 reporting that the British fleet had 22 escadrilles or 171 aircraft divided over 4 aircraft carriers (12 escadrilles=129 aircraft) and 7 battleships and 23 cruisers (10 escadrilles=52 aircraft), At the end of March 1937 was the number of aircraft to be increased to 217 while on short notice 480 were needed. At coastal bases were 10 escadrilles with totally 60 aircraft stationed including 36 flying boats which were belonged to the British Royal Airforce.
