Seal hunting season off Greenland failure according to the Dutch newspaper De Zuid-Willemsvaart dated 28 July 1886

An item reported that the seal hunting season off the coast of Greenland was a complete failure, The complete Norwegian fleet just catches 20.000 seals. The failure was caused by the roughly weather which smashed the ice in so small pieces that there were no floes left for seals to live on.
