Thais sloop Mae Klong 1936-


Building ordered in 1934, laid down by the Uraga Dock Co., Japan on 24 July 1936, launched on 22 November 1936, commissioned on 10 June 1937 and decommissioned on 20 March 1955. Nowadays museum ship. Sister ship was the Tachin. Designed as a sloop annex torpedo boat but also equipped to be used as minelayer.

Displacement 1.400 (standard)-2.000 (full load) tons and as dimensions 269 x 34½ x 10 1/3 feet. The armament existed of 4-4.7” guns, 2-4cm anti aircraft guns and 2-cm anti aircraft guns. Could take a floatplane with her. The 2 reciprocating triple expansion engines and 2 water tube boilers supplied via 2 shafts 2.500ihp allowing a sped of 14 knots. With an oil fuel bunker capacity of 487 tons and a speed of 12 knots was her range 8.000 nautical miles. While used as a training ship numbered her crew 155 men.
