A conceptual design of a 20,000 CDWT multi-purpose sailing dry cargo vessel by Lloyd Bergeson, 1979-1985


The vessel would have become a short of standardized design for Shipping companies. The ship is drawn into the house livery of the Danish shipping company A.P. Møller – Mærsk A/S. Dimensions 159,41 x 24,72 x 9,88 metres or 523' x 81.1' x 32.4', a displacement of :28.565 L-Tons, CDWT: 20.000 L-Tons, Bale Cubic: 1.000.000 cubic feet. Main Engine of 3773.2 kwH (5.060 hp), an average Rig of 1214.75 kWh (1628 hp) and an average speed of: 14 knots (25.9 km/h).

Recently, Mærsk actually fitted a ship with 'sails', the tanker Maersk Pelican. She is crude oil tanker, Singapore-flagged, IMO 9319686, MMSI 565686000 and call sign 9VBS9, built by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Group Dalian, China in 29008. Owned by Maersk Tankers, Copenhagen, Denmark and managed by Maersk Tankers Singapore, Singapore. Sometimes reported as owned by Moller Singapore AP Pte. Ltd.
