Japanese naval training ship Tsugaru commissioned according to the magazine Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens dated 1911 No. 2

An item reported that the Japanese cruiser 2nd class Tsugaru (the former Russian Pallada) was commissioned as training ship for engineers. For the cruising voyage between 9 December and 13 May were 40 Japanese and 8 Chinese aspirant engineers embarked? (1)

Note

Protected cruiser of the Pallada-class, preceded by Svetlana, succeeded by Varyag, laid down at the Admiralty Shipyard at St. Petersburg, Russia on 1 December 1895, launched in August 1899, sunk on 8 December 1905, captured and salvaged by the Japanese armed forces, used as training ship later as mine layer, decommissioned in 1922 and sunk while used as a target in 1924.
