British cruiser Trinidad HMS Trinidad scuttled according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee Daily summary dated 17 May 1942

An item reported that the British light cruiser which was attacked off Northern Norway by 25 German dive bombers and 10 torpedo planes was the HMS Trinidad. Fire broke out which could not be extinguished for which reason she was scuttled on 15 May. This attack was described in summary no. 157.(1)

Note

1. Of the Fiji-class light cruisers, preceded by Dido-class, succeeded by Minotaur-class laid down by HM Dockyard Devonport on 21 April 1938, launched on 21 March 1941 and commissioned on 14 October 1941.
