Haitian president Lescot favored the establishment of a small American air base at Mole St. Nicolas according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 11 March 1942

An item reported that the Haitian president Lescot favored the establishment of a small air base at Mole St. Nicolas [Môle-Saint-Nicolas] with as main task protecting of the shipping in the Windward Passage. The J.I.C. mentioned the activities of Axis submarines in the Passage.(1)
