British squadron visiting Toulon, France according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 6 July 1838

The British squadron commanded by admiral Stopford consisting of 7 ships including 4 ships of the line armed with totally 478 guns arrived in the morning of 28 June at Toulon and was saluted with all the ships lying there and the batteries. Rumours at Toulon were dealing with sending of the French ship of the line Montebello towards Tunis probably to prevent the Ottoman fleet to enter that port.
