Paris, 17 April. The newspaper Le Constitutionnel reported that admiral Hamelin departed from Tolosa? towards Brest. Some assured that the squadron which was fitted out at Brest was destined to cruise off the Spanish coasts.
Bayonne, 13 April. According to the newspaper Le Constitutionnel were in that harbour several ships loaded with war stores and victuals lying ready for departure. There was also a 12-gun brig ordered to cruise between Fontarable and Cape Machilchalou lying in the harbour. A Spanish vessel loaded with wheat and flour underway from Bilbao towards Barcelona was captured by the French.
