French river gunboat le Mytho (1931-1944)


Displacement of standard 95 tons and dimensions 35,0 x 5,35 x 0,90m. Two diesels with 250 hp and a speed of 10 knots. Of the Mytho-class built in the Arsenal at Saigon. Armed with 1-75/35M1897, 1-47/40 M1885, 2-1 8/10 and 1 mortar. (navypedia.org)

Captured by the IJN and sunk by the French colonial aviso l’Amiral Charner (1). Sister ship Tourane, both built at Saigon 1933 with a displacement of 95 tons standard and dimensions 114¾ x x17½ x 3’. Their crew numbered 16 men. Armed with 1-3” Army howitzer, 1-37mm gun and 2 machineguns. The 2 diesel engines provided 250 hp allowing a speed of 10 knots with a range of 500 miles by the same speed.
