The building started at the Kaiserliche Werft at Kiel, Germany in January 1890 with building number 19, she was launched on 4 April 1891 and christened by the spouse of prince Heinrich von Preussen Irene, stricken on 25 October 1912 and a year later at Danzig broken up. With a displacement of 1,559 (design)-1,868 (maximum) tons were her dimensions 79,62 (waterline with summer free board)-82,6 (over all) x 12,5 x 5,63 (maximum) metres. Her crew numbered between the 161 and 166 men. The 2 3 cylinder engines and 4 cylinder boilers supplied 2,910 hp allowing a maximum speed of 16,9 knots while driving one 3-blade screw. She was rigged like as bark with a sail area of 856 square meter and fitted out with 3 masts. The armament consisted of 8-10,5cm guns, 5-3,7cm guns and 2-35cm torpedo tubes.
