The Greek and Turkish navies in the Levant according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 22 July 1823

Korfu, 17 June. According to an extract of a letter dated Zea 8 June were the Greeks of Ipsara daily plundering in Little Asia despite some warships belonging in the fleet of the Captain Pasha lying in the port of Mitylene. It’s almost certain that a Greek flotilla of Hydra landed 2.000 men at the island of Lemnos where reserve magazines a long time built for the fleet of the Captain Pasha were destroyed and a large amount of Turkish slaves taken away. The Turkish squadron would perhaps do again a summer voyage [expedition] towards the coast of Patras.
