London, 19 October. The packet Corres of New York and the Nestor brought with them some newspapers of New York. Although these newspapers didn’t published items coming directly from Peru, tidings from Caracas dated 14 August supplied more information about what was going on. Commodore Dainels left Puero Cabello to take over the command over the three warships of Chegres. Commodore Beluche which was to escort them arrived with the ships Bolivar, Royaca and Ceres at Puerto Cabello and the expedition was planned to start 20 August.
