A new Portuguese East India Company according to the Dutch newspaper Opregte Groninger Courant dated 18 February 1755

Lisbon, 2 January. A certain citizen of this town called Feliciano Velho handed over to the king a plan for founding a East India Company. Apparently approved the king this proposal while he gave the interested a place to found a shipyard which was named East India Company Yard with Feliciano and his son as the principal directors.
