Pennants of Dutch inshore minesweepers

The minesweepers of the so called Van Straelen-class were named after Dutch sailors posthumously decorated for their behaviour in the World War II and in 1946 in Dutch East Indies (Indonesia). They were armed with a 20mm machine gun and had a crew of 12 men. Displacement 151 tons, dimensions 33,10m (maximum) x 6,55m (maximum) and 1,86m medium draught, 12,5 mile speed. Eight were built for American account (Mutual Defence Assistance Program) at Dutch shipyards and transferred to the Dutch Navy.
