Tangier, 13 November. The Pasha ordered that the crew of a Sardinian vessel which arrived in that port was to be brought on land and send Moorish soldiers on board. The British consul which was temporarily responsible for the Sardinian interests lowered the Sardinian flag. A 26-gun American corvette arrived 6 November to negotiate over rebellions of Tarifa as Valdes and Merconcini and to take them on board. When the Pasha refused this the corvette departed towards Gibraltar.
