Spanish privateer El Vengador captured British merchant frigate Suffolk according to the Dutch newspaper Zierikzeesche Courant dated 16 August 1805

According to official tidings received by the Spanish government captured the Spanish privateer El Vengador master Arana armed with 14-3pdrs on 21 May off the Irish coast the British frigate Suffolk loaded with rum and sugar coming from the island St. Vincent. The Suffolk had also a letter of marque and was this purpose armed with 12-6pdrs and 4-12pdrs and with 21 men. The prize was brought into the port of Bordeaux, France the first port they passed.
