Argentinean patrol and supply vessel ARA Teniente Olivier (A-2) 1981->2011


Launched in 1981 as the Marsea 10 at the Quality Shipyard at New Orleans, USA as a support ship and trailer for oil fields. Purchased by Argentina from the US Maritime Administration on 15 November 1987 and handed over in May 1988. With a displacement of 1,640 tons full load 293, GRT, 992 DWT, are her dimensions 56,3 x 12,2 x 4,3 metres. Her two diesel electric engines supplied 3,700 bhp allowing a speed of 14 knots while with a speed of 10 knots she had a range of 2,800 nautical miles. Her crew numbered 39 men (Combat Fleets for 2002-2003 claimed just 15 men) while she was armed with 2-12,7mm machine guns. She was able to carry with her 600 tons fuel of 800 tons water while serving as a supply vessel.
