The navy of Tunis consisted that year of: 2 gabarras armed with 28-18 pdrs and 20-18 lb. carronades, 1 gabarre armed with 28-12 pdrs and 20-18 pdrs, 1 corvette armed with 24-8 pdrs, 1 corvette armed with 18-8 pdrs, 2 xebecques armed with 26-8 pdrs and 8-24 pdrs, 1 xebecque , of said force laid up, 1 xebecque armed with 14-6 pdrs, 1 xebecque armed with 12-6 pdrs, 1 xebecque armed with 12-?pdrs, 1 brig armed with 18-8 pdrs, 1 schrooner armed with 16-6 pdrs 1 schooner armed with 819 lb carronades and 2 long 6 pdrs, 1 schooner armed with 8-6 pdrs, 1 schooner with 2-8 pdr 4-4 pdrs, 1 schooner armed with 2-6 pdrs and 4-4 pdrs, 5 small latteen vessels, 2 armed with 2-4 pdrs, 1 armed with 2-6 pdrs and 2-4 pdrs, 1 armed with 2 8 pdrs and 4 6 pdrs, 80 gun boats armed with 1 gun each, namely 12 pdrs, 18 pdrs and 24 pdrs, 4 gunboats armed with 2 guns each, 1-24pdr and 1-6 pdr, 1 bombard armed with 1 mortar only, 1 bombard armed with 1 mortar and 2-4 pdrs, 1 old corvette armed with 20-8 pdrs, 1 large frigate building, nearly planked up. Totally 108 vessels with 413 guns.
