British Greenland whalers according to the Europische Mercurius of 1730

This Dutch magazine published all kind of information dealing with the European countries dealing with topics as merchant trade shipping, whaling and military affairs. It contained the next list of British Greenland whalers giving the ships’ name, the name of their commandeurs, the  number of whales and the number of barrels if whale blubber. The names of the whalers are English, those of the commandeurs apparently Dutch, but perhaps they were translated from the English into a Dutch spelling. The 20 whalers were far from successful while mostly returning with a empty cargo hold and a totally catch of just 9 whales and 439 barrels of whale blubber.
