Dutch coastal minesweeper Hr. Ms. Beilen (M848) (1952) 1954-1976


Of the Beemster-class with a displacement of 384 ton and as dimensions 43,94 x 8,50 x 2,28 meter. The two diesel engines dirving 2 srews supplied 2x880 ahp allowing a speed of 13,6 miles. Armed with a twin 20mm machine gun. Her crew numbered 41 men. Built for American account as part of the Mutual Defence Assistance Program. On stocks at the yard of Browards Marine Company, Port Landerdale, USA in 1952 as the AMS 110 later renamed MSC 110. Commissioned in Dutch naval service on 26 April 1954 as the Hr.Ms. Beilen with as pennant M 848.Sold on 13 April 1976 for 37.5000 dollars to Canadian Bruzak to be used for divings purposes.
