Dutch coastal minesweeper Hr. Ms. Bruinisse (M 856) 1952-


Of the Beemster-class built for American account according to the Mutual Defence Assistance Program. Laid down at the Naval Ship Yard, Puget Sound, Bremerton, USA as the AMS 168, later renamed MSC 153, arrived in 1954 in the Netherlands and commissioned at Den Helder as the Hr. Ms. Bruinisse (M 856) on 21 January 1954. With a displacement of 384 ton were her dimensions 43,94 x 8,50 x 2,28 meter. The two diesel engines provided each 880 ahp allowing while driving two screws a speed of 13,6 miles. The crew numbered 41 men and the armament consisted of 2x1-20mm machineguns.
