Portuguese Brazil fleet arrived at Lisbon, Portugal in October 1730 according to the Dutch magazine Europische Mercurius

This Dutch magazine published all kind of information (for instance political and economical) dealing with was going within Europe. So it becomes possible to get an impression of what was common known within a country of what was going on in their own country and other European countries in their own time.On 10 October arrived after a voyage of 3 months at Lisbon the so-called Brazilian fleet coming from Rio Janeiro consisting of two warships and ten merchant ships. Two more merchant ships escorted by one warship were still off the coast two others returned caused by leaking, one to Rio and the other to Bahia. The value of the cargoes transported by this fleet was 6,036,000 cruzados coined and bullion partly belonging to the crown and partly to individuals loaded on board of the warships; 2.000 boxes of sugar, 50.000 skins, and a quantity of diamonds from the new mines. More details were not known.
