An item reported that an Egyptian brig entered the Gulf of Saloninchi with 6 missionaries of Mehemet with the purpose to stir up a revolt in Thessalonica. Chosrew-Pacha told this to the European representatives and Lord Ponsonby and admiral Roussin ordered their naval commanders to take the brig away. The British-French fleet in the Dardanelles consisted at that moment of 20 ships of the line.
