Smyrna, 14 January. The British frigate HMS Cambian (1) with on board the commanding officer of the squadron Hamilton arrived in this harbour bringing with a part of the Turkish garrison of Napoli-di-Romania numbered 450 men, wives and children all in worse condition lacking enough food. Underway died another 30 refugees.

1. The 40-gun 5th gate Cambrian with a builder measurement of 1,160 tons and as dimensions 154 x 41’5”. She was launched at the yard of Parsons, Bursledon 13 February 1797 and was wrecked on 3 January 1828 in the Mediterranean.
