Fast screw steam corvettes of France in April 1859 according to Hans Busk

The French screw steam corvettes were all wood-built except for the La Reine-Hortense. All corvettes had the disposal of 400 hp, except for the La Reine-Hortense.

Le D’Assas, homeport Brest, 16 guns, engines built Indret, keel laid at Lorient 2 January 1859, launched 27 April 1854, fitting out March 1859, renamed l’Euphrate 1893, last mentioned 1922. Took part at the war against Mexico 1864.

Le Du Chayla, homeport Lorient, 16 guns, engines built at Lorient, keel laid at Lorient 2 January 1852, launched 19 March 1855, ex-le Volta renamed 1855, last mentioned 1890.

Le Laplace, homeport Toulon, 8 guns, engines built by Le Creuzot, keel laid at Lorient 26 July 1850, launched 3 June 1852, last mentioned 1880.

Le Phlegeton, homeport Cherbourg, engines built at Indret, keel laid at Cherbourg 24 April 1850, launched 25 April 1853, last mentioned 1868.

Le Primaguet, homeport Brest, 8 guns, engines built by M. Mazeline, keel laid at Brest 18 June 1850, launched 15 September 1852, last mentioned 1886.

Le Roland, homeport Toulon, 8 guns, engines built by M. Mazeline, keel laid at Toulon 6 August 1845, launched 5 September 1850, renamed la Reine-Hortense 1852, renamed le Roland 1853, last mentioned 1870.

La Reine-Hortense, homeport Cherbourg, 4 guns, engines built by Le Creuzot, keel laid at Le Havre September 1844, launched 20 December 1846, ex-le Comte d’Ue renamed 1848, ex-le Patriote renamed 1853, renamed le Cassard 1867, 1893 renamed as ponton Le Faune and last mentioned 1914.
