Movements of the Greeks and Turkish navies the Dutch Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 6 November 1821

Korfu, 26 September. The Turkish squadron departed the 19th towards Zante, after bringing some reinforcements to Patras. The 20th departed one part towards the Gulf of Lepante and the other part to several positions of the peninsula. The complete strength consisted of 3 ships of the line, 5 frigates and some corvettes and brigs. In the morning of the 17th we witnessed the joining of the ships left from Alexandria and Algeria and the Capudan Bey off Gomenizza, Epirus, where the latter was waiting. The Capudan Bey in the meantime after stopping with the blockade, killed al Greek sailors on board of his ships, despite they served honestly. The 20th departed the complete division of 24 sails towards the fleet cruising in the waters of Morea and which strength would become 54 warships.
