Petroleum tankers expected to arrive in Germany according to the Dutch newspaper Het Centrum dated 5 November 1919

A news item dated Berlin 4 November reported that the Deutsch Amerikanische Petroleumgesellschaft a fleet of steam tankers with a cargo of petroleum expected to arrive within short time from New York. They hoped that the Standard Oil Company decided to have a regular line of some tankers between New York and Germany for a sufficient monthly petroleum import in Germany and that in the future would be a 50,000 tons capacity. The Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant evening edition dated 7 November reported that the Standard Oil Company was to restart her activities in Germany. The Deutsch Amerikanische Petroleumgesellschaft was a former subsidiary, A fleet of tankers loaded at New Jersey with lubricating oil and other petroleum products was expected to arrive within short time at Hamburg. It was expected that the Standard Oil Company would resume in the near future the line with some of her tankers exclusively between New York and Germany.
