According to a tiding dated Lisbon 3 November arrived last Wednesday the at Rio de Janeiro newly build 64-gun St. Sebastian (1) which sailed in 60 days with a very rich cargo from Rio towards the Taag at Lisbon. There arrived also a merchant ship from Bahia, Brazil loaded with tobacco and sugar. On board of the St. Sebastiaan were 22 boxes with gold of which 8 belonged to the crown and the others to the merchants. Each box was filled with 50,000 cruzados, so totally 110.000.000 cruzados or 27.500.000 livres tournois, one box filled with diamonds worth 30.000.000 cruzados and further more silver, gold dust and other valuable stores valued 10.000.000 cruzados, total value of the cargo 150.000.000 cruzados. There was also a newly at Rio built frigate expected coming from there with more treasures,
