Irun, 12 September. The expected convoy from Havana with on board 3.500,000 piasters (around 8.000,000 Dutch guilders) still didn not arrived although it was now nearly a month to late. In the meantime was everything done what was possible to fit out the large expedition destined towards South America. The squadron was fitted out and the transports gathered. Three beautiful Russian 44-gun frigates were expected to arrive any moment at Cadiz to join the expedition. The fleet would consist of 4 ships of the line, 6 frigates of the 1st charter, several corvettes and 30 large transports. The intention was to depart in October.
