Turkish naval shipbuilding according to the Dutch newspaper Groninger Courant 21 October 1783

A item dated Pera 10 September supplied some details about the Turkish society and the roll which the sultan played and the fact that he was not interested in the war but let the captain bassa handle everything giving him a boundless power. The captain bassa was according to the item closed friends with the grand vizier. He still continued to improve the Turkish navy by for instance the building of beautiful 72 gun ship at the island Limnos and ordered to built a large number of small vessels suitable for a landing and supporting such a landing
