Venetian naval preparations according to the Dutch newspaper Opregte Groninger Courant dated 9 January 1770

In an item dated Cologne 3 January was the arrival of letters from Venice reported according to which the Senate ordered to strengthen the Venetian navy just to be prepared in case the Archipelago became a new battle front. The Russian fleet was apparently there prepared to attack the Ottoman empire.
