Spanish naval strength according to the Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsche Courant dated 14 June 1808

According to the received so-called British Papers dated until 19 May consisted the Spanish navy of the following ships.
At Cadiz were 17 ships of the line, 13 frigates, 6 corvettes, 16 brigs, 3 packet boats and 36 smaller vessels.
At Ferrol were 12 ships of the line, 8 frigates, 13 corvettes, 23 brigs, 8 gun chaloupes, 1 packet boat and 13 smaller vessels.
At Cartagena 13 ships of the line, 9 frigates, 1 corvette, 4 chebecqs, 11 brigs, 5 gun chaloupes and 15 smaller vessels.
Totally 42 ships of the line, 30 frigates, 20 corvettes, 4 chebecqs, 40 brigs, 15 gun chaloupes, 4 packet boats and 65 smaller vessels in total 218 ships and vessels. The newspaper wrote that since France influenced Spain more and more this naval strength would be considerable increased. Another Dutch newspaper Vriesche Courant dated 18 June 1808 confirmed this item.
