British whaler Alerte for sale at Christiansand, Norway according to the Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsche Courant dated 15 March 1798

An item reported that Weddik and Wendel at Amsterdam announced that on the afternoon of 10 April Daniel Isaachsen at his house at Christiansand, Norway intended to sell the beautiful 3-master Alerte of around 350-400 tons and armed with 2-12pdr guns. She was brought in a prize by the French privateer La Legere of Dunkirk. Build at Hull, England in 1794 was she recently fitted out at Pernauw with a new hull to depart next spring as a whaler to Greenland.
