Iron hulled build at the shipyard of Barclay, Curle & Co. at Glasgow, Scotland for the Golden Fleece Line of A.&J.H. Carmichael &Co. to serve in the Australian wool trade. Sold to Russia in 1897. She left with a cargo of timber Frederickstadt, Norway on 26 November towards Australia but was stranded the next month off Christiansand, Norway caused by a heavy fog. Despite being refloated she was so severely damaged that she was to be condemned and sold on 28 April a year later during an auction to be broken up.
